Agent skills

Install NEMO agent skills so Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other coding agents set up, write, migrate and debug your middleware correctly.

NEMO publishes agent skills in the open Agent Skills format. A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md that an agent loads when your request matches its description. With the NEMO skills installed, your agent knows the file name for your Next.js version, how routes match, what continues or stops a chain, and which patterns from older posts no longer work.

Skills

SkillUse it for
nemo-setupInstall NEMO, create proxy.ts or middleware.ts, the matcher and the first routes
nemo-middleware-patternsChains, nesting, params, storage, redirects, rewrites, headers, cookies, auth gating, i18n
nemo-migrateFrom a single middleware, from @rescale/nemo with the codemod, or to Next.js 16 proxy.ts
nemo-debuggingWhy a middleware does not run, lost responses, shared storage, and tests

Install

With the skills CLI, which supports Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot and many other agents:

npx skills add zanreal-labs/nemo

Useful options:

npx skills add zanreal-labs/nemo --list # show skills without installing
npx skills add zanreal-labs/nemo --skill nemo-setup # one skill
npx skills add zanreal-labs/nemo -a claude-code # one agent
npx skills add zanreal-labs/nemo -g # global instead of project

With the Claude Code plugin marketplace:

claude plugin marketplace add zanreal-labs/nemo
claude plugin install nemo@zanreal-nemo

Plugin skills are namespaced, for example /nemo:nemo-setup.

Use

You do not call the skills by hand. Ask for the outcome and the agent picks the skill:

  • "Add NEMO to this Next.js app and protect everything under /dashboard."
  • "Why does my NEMO route for /blog not run on /blog/my-post?"
  • "Migrate us from @rescale/nemo."
  • "Write tests for this createNEMO config."

Versions

The skills describe @zanreal/nemo 3 and are checked against the library source and tests in CI. They live in the skills folder of the repository. Report mistakes as issues.
