The situation
busel.uk is a London-based professional services company with a small team. They run a Next.js application, and its hosting had reached the point where pricing and usage were a line item somebody had to worry about rather than a cost of doing business.
The brief was short and it was about outcomes, not implementation: solve the Next.js issues quickly, bring the bill down, and stop the team losing time to it. The engagement covered IT managed services and web development, and ran around January 2026.
What we did
Diagnosed what was actually driving the cost, rather than trimming around the edges of the bill.
Delivered a working fix for the reported Next.js issues by the next day.
Ran the engagement through virtual meetings, with same-day responses as questions came up.
The important part of that list is the first item. A hosting bill is an output, and there are only ever a handful of things in an application generating it. Finding which one is the difference between a reduction and a rewrite.
The outcome
The client reported the bill reduced by 99%, with the solution arriving the next day and no loss of functionality.
Andrei Kapytau, Team Lead at busel.uk, listed no areas for improvement. His summary was direct: "They were very effective."
