2026·DJ Seweryn Durczok

A portfolio for a Silesian DJ, led by real event footage

Seweryn Durczok books weddings, proms and corporate events on the strength of what a room looks like when he is running it. We built djseweryndurczok.pl so the first thing a visitor sees is that room, and so a phone on a weak connection can still see it quickly.

Who we built it for

Seweryn Durczok is a DJ and MC from Silesia with more than a decade on stage and over 500 events behind him. He is booked for weddings, proms, corporate events and special occasions, and almost every one of those bookings starts the same way: somebody who has been to an event he ran, or heard about one, looking him up on a phone.

What he sells is not a track list. It is a full dancefloor, the lights, the drop, and a steady voice on the microphone. Photographs can support that. They cannot carry it.

What we delivered

djseweryndurczok.pl, a complete portfolio site built mobile first, with real performance footage on the first screen.

  • A video-led hero that opens with footage from actual events rather than a stock image or a logo animation.

  • An "About" section covering his background and the kind of rooms he works.

  • A four-part offer: weddings, proms, corporate events and special occasions, each written for the person who books that specific kind of event.

  • A gallery of event photography, served as responsive AVIF and WebP.

  • Testimonials and partner logos, placed where somebody who is comparing two DJs will actually read them.

  • A contact section with a phone number and an email address, reachable in one tap from a phone.

  • Polish-language content, with the structure and metadata prepared for search engines and for AI assistants that answer "who can I book for a wedding in Silesia".

The decision the whole site rests on

Putting video first is easy to say and easy to get wrong. The straightforward version, a single MP4 file, is also the version that creates the problem: one encode has to serve a desktop monitor and a mid-range Android on train LTE. Tune it for the big screen and the phone waits. Tune it for the phone and the footage loses its weight where it matters most.

So the hero is not a file. It is an adaptive stream that picks its own quality, second by second, based on the connection actually available. A lightweight poster image owns the first paint so the page is never blank while that happens, and the video payload stays lazy until it is needed.

That is what lets the strongest asset on the page also be one of the first things to appear, instead of being the reason the page feels slow.

Where it stands

The site is live at djseweryndurczok.pl: a mobile-first portfolio with a video-led hero that starts quickly and holds up across devices and connections, the full offer laid out by event type, and a contact path that is one tap away from anywhere on the page.

The technical detail

How the bitrate ladder is built, why Safari and iOS need different handling from everything else, and how to keep the poster from fighting the stream for Largest Contentful Paint are all worth more than a paragraph. We wrote them up separately, in a guide to putting video at the top of a page without making visitors wait.
