Who the game is for
GBS® was looking for a Halloween campaign idea: something that stands out in the feed, keeps visitors around and ends with a discount code worth coming back for. There was one condition: every consent and every issued code had to land in the GBS® consent platform, not a separate list. There were a few days for the whole thing.
What we delivered
A browser game on Vercel, connected to the GBS® consent platform through its discount-code API.
An audio password screen: before entering the maze, players have to guess a clue ("dynia", pumpkin), so the Halloween mood starts straight away.
Three maze levels of rising difficulty, from an innocent warm-up to a finale in the style of the classic scary maze.
A jumpscare using the player's webcam feed, which makes the finale uncomfortably personal.
Email and SMS verification at the end of the game, recording consent in the same log as every other GBS® campaign.
A discount code issued through the consent platform's API, with no separate code list.
A game without its own database
The easy way would have been to collect addresses in a spreadsheet and send codes by hand. Instead the game uses the same verification and the same code issuing as every other GBS® campaign. A player's consent therefore has the same trail and the same withdrawal process, and every code can be traced back to the player and the campaign.
Where it stands today
The campaign went from idea to live in a few days, and thousands of people played it. The game is a ready template GBS® can reuse for its next seasonal campaign.
