Product safety (GPSR)
The information art. 19 of the General Product Safety Regulation requires in every online offer, kept as reusable manufacturer and responsible person records, with Polish warnings and a list of what is missing.
Since 13 December 2024, every online offer of a consumer product must show clearly and visibly (art. 19 of Regulation (EU) 2023/988):
- the manufacturer's name, registered trade name or trade mark, and its postal and electronic address;
- if the manufacturer is not established in the EU, the same for the responsible person in the EU;
- information identifying the product, including a picture, its type and any other identifier;
- warnings and safety information, in a language consumers easily understand.
In Poland that language is Polish (art. 4 of the act of 7 November 2025 on supervision of general product safety, Dz.U. 2025 poz. 1826, in force since 3 January 2026). A missing art. 19 element can cost up to 500 000 zł (art. 76).
Economic operators
Manufacturers, EU responsible persons and importers are kept once (Settings > Consumer compliance > Manufacturers) and assigned to products: a catalogue usually has a few brands and many products. An operator has a name, trade name, postal address, country code, e-mail, website and phone. The country decides whether a responsible person in the EU is required. An operator still assigned to products cannot be deleted.
Product data
On the product page, the compliance card holds:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Not covered by GPSR | For things that are not consumer products in the GPSR sense, such as a licence key or a service. Switches all checks off. |
| Manufacturer, responsible person | Picked from the operators. |
| Product identifier | Type, model, batch or serial number. Variant SKUs and barcodes (EAN, UPC) are added automatically. |
| Warnings, safety information | Localised, Polish first. |
| No warnings required | An explicit statement, so an empty field is never mistaken for a decision. |
| Label and instruction images | URLs, one per line. |
| Accessibility notes | Localised text alternative for labels or instructions shown as images (see below). |
Validation
The card shows what is missing, and Settings > Consumer compliance > GPSR gaps lists every published product with gaps. The checks:
- a manufacturer with a name or trade name, a postal address, an e-mail or website, and a country;
- a responsible person when the manufacturer is outside the EU, itself with an address and contact and established in the EU;
- an identifier (the product's own, or a variant SKU or barcode) and an image;
- warnings or safety information in Polish, unless the product is marked as needing none.
Validation never blocks a save: a half-filled record is better than none.
Accessibility (European Accessibility Act)
The Polish accessibility act (Dz.U. 2024 poz. 731) applies to e-commerce services from 28 June 2025, except services of microenterprises (fewer than 10 people and at most EUR 2 million turnover or balance sheet). Almost all of it is frontend work: WCAG 2.1 AA in identification, checkout, payment and the withdrawal function, and accessibility information in the terms. What a backend can add is data: the accessibility notes field above, product identifiers in text rather than only in images, and acknowledgement e-mails with a plain-text part (the plugin sends both HTML and text).
