Unit prices and deposit
Net quantity, the unit price required by the Polish price display regulation, its exemptions, and the deposit (kaucja) shown separately from the price.
Art. 4 ust. 1 of the Polish price information act requires the unit price next to the price. The regulation on displaying prices (Dz.U. 2022 poz. 2776) sets the units, and the plugin follows it.

How the unit price is computed
auto picks the statutory unit for the dimension (par. 4 ust. 1): kilogram for
mass, litre for volume, metre for length, square metre for area, cubic metre for
volume in m³, and one piece for goods sold by the piece. The price is the live
calculated price, rounded to grosz, half away from zero.
| Variant | Price | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 250 g | 10,00 zł | 40,00 zł / kg |
250 g, reference per_100g | 10,00 zł | 4,00 zł / 100 g |
| 400 g, drained 240 g | 6,00 zł | 25,00 zł / kg |
50 pieces, reference per_100_pieces | 12,50 zł | 25,00 zł / 100 szt. |
| 1 piece | 19,99 zł | 19,99 zł / szt., same_as_price: true |
100 g and 100 ml are a store choice. The regulation has no threshold: par. 4 ust. 2 allows decimal multiples and submultiples "in special cases justified by the kind, purpose or customary quantity" of the goods. Packs labelled with a number of pieces may use a price per piece or per 10 or 100 pieces (par. 4 ust. 3).
same_as_price: true marks a unit price equal to the selling price, which par. 7
pkt 1 exempts from display. The frontend may skip it.
Deposit (kaucja)
Since 1 October 2025 a deposit is charged on beverages in packaging covered by the deposit-return system. No price display rule for it exists in the price act, the regulation or UOKiK guidance; the Ministry of Climate says the deposit is added at the checkout, and the VAT act leaves it out of the tax base. The plugin therefore treats it as a separate amount: it is returned next to the price, never included in it, never part of the unit price and never part of the Omnibus history. Show it as "+ 0,50 zł kaucji" and as its own line in the cart. Charging it at checkout (for example as a line item) is outside this plugin. The interpretation is listed among the open questions in Legal basis.
